How fat ARE You?

It's official — being overweight or obese now contributes to six different forms of cancer, not to mention the toll excess fat places on your heart and internal organs and the damage it does to your figure. You might argue that your bulges are curves or that bigger sizes are fine, but it is unhealthy to be over-fat and unfortunately, no amount of bravado is going to change this.

Many women of size 14-16 and above will insist that they are perfectly healthy. This is because they feel perfectly healthy. There is also a lot of pressure these days to allow sizes to creep up, because larger women are called 'Real'. Believe me, it is just as real to be a size 8. As for the so-called 'size zero debate', American size zero is a UK size 4, and how many people do you know who are this size? I have been a nutritionist for many years and have met a small handful of women who are size 4. So I hope nobody is side-tracked from losing bodyfat and getting healthier just because of some so-called debate.

Health problems can take years or even decades to emerge, so don't be fooled by how you feel. Find your Body Mass Index now and take steps to reduce it if you need to.

Weight not shifting?

All exercise is good. Walking, cycling, swimming - being active is better than sitting around!
But many people ask where they are going wrong when their weight simply won't shift and the answer is that they are still eating too many calories.

Diet is the most effective way to shift fast and exercise will take care of your shape. NEVER use exercise to control weight; use it for enjoyment, feeling good and boosting your circulation. My CRASH DIET works well for women who have gained a few 'vanity pounds' while my REVENGE DIET tackles long-term problems with a calorie-contolled regime you will find it easy to stick with.

Check back often to see how your Body Mass Index is improving. And please let me know how you are getting on!
